Hony Estrella on comment directed at Abinader: "It was sarcasm, my account wasn't hacked"

Santo Domingo, RD. – The communicator and actress Hony Estrella clarified this Friday morning through her social networks the true meaning behind the controversial comment she made recently, in which she compared President Luis Abinader to the urban singer Natti Natasha, which generated a wide debate on social networks. The original comment, issued by Estrella, said: "When @luisabinader can do what an urban singer who speaks does, he only had to be a nobody."

Faced with the avalanche of reactions that her comment unleashed, some accusing her of being disrespectful and others defending her for her critical stance, Hony decided to break the silence and explain her intention through a post on her official Instagram account. "Nobody stole my account and it's a sarcastic way of saying that an urban singer does more for her country than the Dominican authorities. The bridges, the roofs will continue to collapse, and people will continue to die. And we will continue without citizen security," the actress expressed. Estrella seized the moment to draw attention to national problems that, in her opinion, remain unresolved: deficient infrastructure, lack of security, and abandonment of vulnerable sectors.

Her initial comment came in the midst of the celebration of Premios Juventud 2025 where Natti Natasha was recognized for her album “Natti en Amargue”, a bachata album she dedicated to the Dominican Republic.

The communicator emphasized that her criticism is not directed at the president as an individual, but at the general performance of the government in the face of the needs of the Dominican people. Likewise, she reiterated that her intention was to provoke reflection through sarcasm. The controversy has generated an intense debate to which artists, influencers, and public figures from the political and social spheres have joined.
