Regional Gymnastics Competition Held in Barahona

Barahona. – With the participation of more than 40 young promises, the Barahona Gymnastics Association (ASOGIBA) successfully held the Regional Gymnastics Championship, a qualifying event for the National Championship of December 2025 in Santo Domingo.


In the event, held in the Olympic Village of the Pearl of the South, participants competed in the Skills categories and Levels 1 to 6, and the high female participation stood out, demonstrating the growth of this discipline in the region.

The technical direction of the regional event was in the hands of a top-level team, made up of international judges Génesis Mazara, Evelyn Rosa, Birnalisis de la Cruz and Holger Barreras, guaranteeing impartiality and high standards of the competition.

Among the names of the young talents who were awarded are:

• Génesis Feliz
• Esteysi María Nin
• Alice Tejeda
• Andrellis Gómez
• Arlette Valdez
• América Feliz

However, the sporting event took place with a notable absence: the local sports authorities, whose lack of support was pointed out by both the organization and the attendees.
