The businessman and communicator Santiago Matías, better known as Alofoke, responded this Sunday to the statements of lawyer Miguel Valerio, legal representative of Santiago Hazim, director of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), after referring to the march called in front of the Palace of Justice.

Valerio had reported that he would attend the Courthouse to fulfill his duty as a defense attorney, pointing out that the fulfillment of the Rule of Law resides in the judges. Likewise, he maintained that the State security agencies must guarantee the integrity of the participants in the protest.

The jurist warned that, should any incident occur caused by people who, as he expressed, feel they are above the law, they would be solely responsible for damage to persons and property.

In his message, he stated that he believed in justice and not in pressure or terror. He added that democracy allows the free exercise of protest, but not disorder, threats, or intimidation, assuring that he does not feel intimidated and that he will continue to practice the legal profession under the protection of the rule of law and the fundamental right to defense.

In response, Santiago Matías rejected what he considered intimidating warnings and defended the citizen's right to peaceful protest.

"You won't get away with it like in the Jet Set case. Stop stirring up trouble," expressed Matías.

The communicator reiterated that he will continue to denounce what he considers irregularities and that he will not allow pressure or speeches aimed at instilling fear in the population.
