Buenos Aires.- The Argentinian president, Javier Milei, will hold a meeting this Thursday in Buenos Aires with the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, at the Casa Rosada, the seat of the Executive branch.
The meeting was confirmed to EFE by sources from the Argentine Presidency, who specified that Milei and Díaz Ayuso will meet around 10:00 local time (13:00 GMT). The meeting will not be the first between the two, as they held meetings in 2024 and 2025, both in the Spanish capital. The first time was in June 2024, when Díaz Ayuso awarded the Argentine leader the International Medal of the Community of Madrid. A year later, they met again in the Spanish capital prior to Milei's speech at the Madrid Economic Forum. You can also read: Javier Milei, the best-rated South American president, followed by Noboa and Lula
Situation in Venezuela in Debate
While no information has yet emerged about the topics they will discuss during tomorrow's meeting, local media indicated that they are expected to discuss the situation in Venezuela. Milei was one of the first world leaders to celebrate the United States' attack against the Caribbean country on Saturday and the capture of Maduro.«We celebrate the fall of the narco-terrorist dictator Maduro. Argentina is ready to help in the transition to a free, democratic, and prosperous Venezuela», expressed the president, who listed a series of accusations against Maduro including electoral interference in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Bolivia, drug trafficking, money laundering, alliances with NGOs «to promote the radical left in the world», links with Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, financing of the Colombian guerrilla and «deep connections with the Spanish Socialist Party and with Podemos».
Díaz Ayuso, for her part, was happy about Maduro's arrest and assured that "great powers like China, Iran or Russia" have allowed him to be in power while profiting "from the blood of the Venezuelan people" using oil and drug trafficking.
