Scattered showers and pleasant temperatures will affect a large part of the country

Santo Domingo. – The weather conditions will continue to be marked by the incidence of the east/northeast wind, which maintains the drag of cloudiness over the national territory, generating scattered rains during the day in several provinces of the country.

From the early hours of the morning, cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall have been recorded in provinces in the east, northeast, and north, including La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, Monte Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Santiago, and Monte Cristi. These rains will gradually extend during the afternoon towards locations in the center and south, such as San Cristóbal, La Vega, San José de Ocoa, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Azua, San Juan, Elías Piña, and Gran Santo Domingo. During the night, a progressive decrease in rainfall is expected.

For Monday and Tuesday, similar conditions are expected due to the influence of a weak trough north of Puerto Rico, with isolated and scattered showers from the morning in areas of the northeast and north, extending in the afternoon towards the center and southeast of the country, including Greater Santo Domingo.

On the Atlantic coast, operators of fragile and small vessels are advised to navigate with caution, limiting themselves to the coastal perimeter and avoiding going out to sea, due to the presence of abnormal waves.

Summary: The country will continue under the influence of east/northeast winds, maintaining scattered showers and pleasant temperatures typical of the winter season, with maritime restrictions in effect on the north coast.
