Meta Names Dina Powell McCormick, Former Trump Advisor, as Its New President

New York.- The tech giant Meta announced this Monday that it appointed Dina Powell McCormick, former advisor to Donald Trump during part of his first term, as president and vice president of the company. Powell was on Meta's board of directors until last December, when she resigned without specifying the reason, and was "deeply involved" as the tech company accelerated its search for artificial intelligence (AI) and personal superintelligence, according to a statement.

For his part, Trump congratulated McCormick on Truth Social, who served as his Deputy National Security Advisor until 2018, and defined her as a "fantastic" and "talented" person who "served the Trump Administration with strength and distinction." According to Meta's statement, Powell, 52, originally from Egypt, will be part of its management team and will help guide the company's overall strategy and execution.
