"This professional stage concludes, and it hasn't gone as we would have liked. Coaching Real Madrid has been an honor and a responsibility," wrote the Basque coach on his official Instagram account, accompanying the message with images of his time on the merengue bench. Alonso underscored the support received during his management and highlighted the support of Real Madrid fans at all times.“I thank the club, the players and above all the fans for their trust and support. I leave with respect, gratitude and the pride of having done my best”, he expressed. The farewell comes after the final of the Spanish Super Cup, in which Real Madrid finished as runners-up, and marks the closing of a brief but intense stage for the former midfielder, who took on the challenge of managing one of the most demanding clubs in world football. With his departure, the club begins a new stage under the command of Álvaro Arbeloa, who has already begun to coach the team in training, while Xabi Alonso says goodbye leaving a message of professionalism, institutional respect and commitment to the badge he defended first as a player and then as a coach.
