Ramón Alburquerque author and co-author of more than 100 laws of the DR

Santo Domingo.– The President of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos, highlighted during his speech that the engineer and political leader Ramón Alburquerque was the author and co-author of more than 100 laws, many of them fundamental for the institutional and democratic development of the Dominican Republic.

During the posthumous tribute held in the National Congress, De los Santos emphasized that Alburquerque's legislative legacy constitutes one of the most significant contributions to the country's legal framework, by impacting key areas such as social security, energy, the environment, telecommunications, and border development.

Among the most relevant regulations mentioned are the Social Security Law, the Hydrocarbons Law, the General Electricity Law, the Environmental and Natural Resources Law, the General Telecommunications Law, and the Law that creates the Special Border Development Zone.

She also highlighted her participation in the creation of the Law that institutes the Secretariat of State for Women, the Securities Market Law, the Law that creates the Secretariat of State for Culture, the Copyright Law and the law that designates the Las Américas International Airport with the name of José Francisco Peña Gómez, among other provisions of high national impact. In turn, he affirmed that these more than 100 laws reflect the vision of the State, the technical capacity and the democratic commitment that characterized him as a legislator, ensuring that his legislative work will remain as an obligatory reference for current and future generations.
