The event will bring together more than 165 athletes from more than 20 countries in Central America and the Caribbean, who will seek to secure their qualification for the regional event that will be hosted in the Dominican capital. The president of the federation, José Luis Ramírez, informed that the tournament will define a total of 144 spots —in both genders— for the 2026 Games. Likewise, he confirmed the arrival in the country of the head of the Pan American Karate Confederation, José García Mañón, along with his delegation, who will be present to supervise the development of the competition and witness the combat and kata events. The event is supported by the Ministry of Sports, the National Institute of Physical Education, the Dominican Olympic Committee, and the Games organizing committee, with FEDOKARATE as host. Ramírez announced that more details of the championship will be offered in the coming hours, which he described as a high-level technical competition, bringing together the best exponents of the region in search of their ticket to the Santo Domingo 2026 Games.
