Caminero tied the game with a home run in the ninth inning, unleashing a two-run rally with the bases loaded that sealed the victory for Tampa Bay, extending their winning streak to six games. The Rays had to come from behind on several occasions, after being at a disadvantage at three different points in the game. The offense reacted to Chicago's relief pitching, especially against Seranthony Domínguez, who couldn't preserve the lead and left the mound after allowing Caminero's home run, as well as giving up walks and granting liberties that complicated the inning. Lucas Sims, for his part, also failed to contain the attack, giving up two consecutive walks that ended up tilting the scoreboard in favor of Tampa Bay. Before the outcome, the White Sox had taken the lead with a home run by Miguel Vargas in the third inning, while Everson Pereira also contributed power with another home run in the eighth inning. In the mound, Steven Matz pitched 5.1 innings for the Rays, allowing two runs, while the bullpen managed to contain the opposing offense in the decisive moments. With the victory, Tampa Bay improves its record to 11-7, while Chicago continues in a slump, accumulating six consecutive home losses after a promising start to the season.
