Haina, San Cristóbal. – The Ministry of Youth carried out the delivery of courts of the program “Una Cancha Pa’ mi Barrio”, a subproject of “Juventud con B de Barrio” aimed at the recovery of public spaces, the promotion of sports and the strengthening of community coexistence, impacting different sectors of Haina. As part of the day, the court of the Framboyán sector was formally installed.
The event began with a press conference held at the Haina Sports Center, where the authorities provided details on the scope and impact of the program, as well as the upcoming spaces that will be intervened in different communities of the country.
The opening remarks were given by the mayor of Haina, Osvaldo Rodríguez, who valued the impact of this type of project for the strengthening of sports and recreational spaces for the benefit of youth and communities.
The delivery was headed by the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez, who explained that the program arises from the surveys carried out during the Youth with B de Barrio days, where different sports and recreational needs in vulnerable sectors were identified. In that sense, he highlighted that the initiative seeks to transform improvised spaces used by young people to practice basketball into adequate, safe and dignified facilities for sports development and healthy coexistence.
