Santo Domingo Este. – Residents of the El Almirante sector, Santo Domingo Este, denounced this Saturday that they remain without electricity since four in the morning, accumulating more than 12 hours of blackout, without the Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (EDEEste) having offered a solution so far.
The community members claim that, despite the reports made through the distributor's customer service system, the situation has not been resolved. You may be interested in: Most of Cuba remains without power 20 hours after the new national blackout
"Since early morning we have no electricity and nobody gives us an answer. It's not the first time this happens and each time the blackout lasts longer," expressed one of those affected. Neighbors consulted expressed their indignation by pointing out that, in addition to facing constant service interruptions, they receive overcharged bills that do not correspond to the actual time of energy they consume. They also expressed their concern about the losses that this situation causes in refrigerated food, as well as the insecurity generated by remaining without power at night and in the early morning hours. Residents demanded that the EDE Este authorities restore the service as soon as possible and establish a plan to prevent these failures from continuing to repeat in the sector.
