Moca.– The Civil Defense of Espaillat province reported this Monday that they have concluded the rescue operations at the site of the tragic accident that occurred in the community of Puesto Grande, on the Moca–San Víctor highway, where a bus carrying 60 passengers overturned, leaving a balance of six dead and 47 injured.
According to the official report, the vehicle was transporting excursionists from the municipality of Esperanza, in Valverde province, when the accident occurred on Sunday night. The fatal victims include the bus driver and several women, whose names have not been officially revealed.

The provincial director of Civil Defense, Víctor Vásquez, explained that the brigades, along with the National Emergency System 9-1-1, the Fire Department, the Red Cross and medical units, carried out extraction, pre-hospital care and transfer of the injured to different health centers, mainly to the Toribio Bencosme hospital in Moca. “Our teams have concluded their work at the site, but we continue to provide support to the families and collaborate with the authorities to follow up on the injured and the investigation process,” Vásquez said.By: Nuñez Morel
