Edesur recovers more than RD$28 million and energy stolen through agreements with clients involved in electricity fraud

Santo Domingo. – In its constant fight against electricity fraud, Edesur Dominicana reported that, during the first half of 2025, it recovered a total of RD$28,157,865.46 and 1,482,340 kilowatt/hours (kWh) of energy, thanks to the signing of 214 conciliation agreements with clients who were subject to fraud reports filed by the Deputy Attorney General for the Electric System (PGASE).

During the period between January and June, 214 cases were settled with users who acknowledged the irregular consumption of energy and agreed to regularize their situation by making the corresponding payment. In this regard, agreements were reached with the clients in exchange for the payment of the stolen energy.

The monthly breakdown of reconciled fraud records is as follows: in January, 29; in February, 28; in March, 47; in April, 33; in May, 40; and in June, 27.

Edesur reaffirms its commitment to efficiency, transparency, and the continuous improvement of the electrical service, while promoting a relationship of dialogue and co-responsibility with its clients.

The company calls on citizens to comply with the timely payment of the electricity service and to avoid illegal connections, as these affect the quality of the supply and represent a violation of the law.
