Santo Domingo. – The president of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP), Leonel Fernández, stated this Sunday that the Government was finally forced to acknowledge the complaints about alleged irregularities in the National Health Insurance (Senasa), after sending a report to the Attorney General's Office.
Fernández recalled that it was the FP, through its Secretariat of Health, that was the first organization to publicly warn about anomalies in the administration of the state entity, despite the fact that the authorities initially rejected the accusations.

"At first, everything was denied. It was said to be false, that the People's Force had exaggerated its claims. Today it is confirmed that we were right," said the former president after exercising his right to vote in his party's internal elections. The opposition leader highlighted that Ramón Alvarado's statements, representing the FP, were fundamental for the issue to gain notoriety and for the request for a formal investigation into what happened at Senasa to be initiated. Fernández insisted that the Fuerza del Pueblo will maintain its role of overseeing the Government and of warning about any situation that affects transparency in the management of public resources.
