Santo Domingo. – A bloody event shook the early hours of this Wednesday in the El Progreso sector, in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, where a woman and her minor son were found dead inside their residence.
The victims were identified as Noemí Marte Encarnación, 38 years old, and her son Axel Federico Ruiz Marte, who died from multiple stab wounds.

The alleged perpetrator of the crime is "Luis Alberto Díaz Cruz", the woman's common-law husband and the minor's stepfather, who was arrested at the scene after being identified as responsible for the "double homicide". According to testimonies collected by the authorities, around 1:30 in the morning the desperate screams of a minor were heard, who begged the aggressor not to commit the act. Seconds later, she alerted the neighbors that her mother and brother had been murdered. Agents from the Homicide Division and the Scientific Police went to the scene, where they collected two knives as evidence. The bodies were taken to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
