Nagua–El Factor highway accident leaves one dead and two injured

El Factor, María Trinidad Sánchez.– A traffic accident that occurred on the morning of this Sunday, September 7, on the Nagua–El Factor road section, Telanza sector, left one person dead and two injured.

The incident occurred around 8:05 in the morning, about 300 meters from the El Factor sign, when a cream-colored Toyota pickup truck collided head-on with a gray Honda CR-V jeep-type vehicle.

The van was driven by Rosario Antonio de Cena Santana, 63 years old, a resident of Río San Juan, who unfortunately lost his life at the scene. The body was taken away by his relatives without waiting for the arrival of the Inacif personnel. In the same vehicle was his son, Víctor Anthony de Cena Jiménez, 26 years old, who suffered chest trauma and various lacerations. The young man was taken by 9-1-1 to the Dr. Antonio Yapor Heded Hospital, in Nagua. On the other hand, the Honda CR-V jeep was driven by Junior Antonio Germán Sánchez, 32 years old, a resident of Nagua, who was also injured. He was transferred to the Costa Norte Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with multiple traumas, closed abdominal thoracic trauma, lacerations, and acute alcoholism. Authorities reported that the case is under investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.
