Passenger flow remains slow after Christmas and New Year holidays

Santo Domingo.- Public transport drivers reported that the return to work continues to develop partially after the Christmas and New Year festivities, with a slow flow of passengers at public car stops, buses and other means of collective transport. During interviews with public transport drivers, they pointed out that many people have not yet returned to their usual activities, either because they continue to share with family, enjoying the holidays or decided to take a long weekend before returning to work.

They indicated that, compared to a normal working day, the influx of users has been considerably lower, which is reflected in fewer passengers and longer waiting times on traditional routes. The drivers expressed that they hope the movement of passengers will increase progressively in the coming days, as the festivities end and the population fully returns to their work and school schedules.
