Santo Domingo.– The president Luis Abinader and the first lady Raquel Arbaje released this Wednesday a message of Christmas in which they urged the Dominican people to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, highlighting unity, solidarity, humility and faith as fundamental pillars for the strengthening of the nation.
In his speech, the president pointed out that Christmas is a time to reaffirm the values learned at home, such as respect, honesty, and humility, remembering that the birth of Jesus occurred in simplicity, without ostentation or grandeur.
Abinader warned that the excessive love of wealth can distance society from the paths of justice, and stressed that from humility was born the greatest hope of humanity.
For her part, First Lady Raquel Arbaje expressed that this time invites us to look at ourselves with sincerity, learn, correct, and reconnect with the best in each person and as a nation. She indicated that she offers her message not only as the president's life partner, but as an ally in the cause of serving and positively transforming the country.
The Head of State also spoke as a believing Dominican, inviting citizens to share love within the family, the embrace of true friends, and the faith that sustains in difficult times."Happiness doesn't come from having, but from loving; not from excess, but from the peace that dwells in the heart," he expressed.
