Santo Domingo.- The Public Ministry formally accused a man for allegedly raping and murdering a nine-year-old boy on April 18 of this year in the province of San Cristóbal, the Prosecutor's Office reported this Friday.
The man, Jesús Alberto Camacho Decena, was accused before the First Instruction Court of the Judicial District of San Cristóbal for the crimes of abuse, rape, and murder of the child. The Prosecution reported that its case file is supported by testimonial, documentary, audiovisual, expert, and material evidence that compromises the criminal responsibility of the defendant, including a video in which he is seen making contact with the victim and taking her to the aforementioned place aboard the motorcycle he was riding. The investigation was initiated by the Public Ministry and the National Police following the report of the case presented on April 19, 2025. Before the events, the child was playing inside his residence in the Villa Fundación sector, later, he was last seen near the food sales establishment. The Public Ministry requested the court to summon the parties involved in the process to a preliminary oral hearing in order to hear the accusation and the request for an order to open the trial against Camacho Decena. At the moment, the accused is serving pre-trial detention for the case at the Najayo Men's Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) in San Cristóbal.
