Santiago. – The judge of the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santiago, Yiberty Polanco, imposed this Monday three months of preventive detention as a coercive measure against a man accused of participating in the death of the sergeant of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), Eddy Antonio Almonte Santana, in an event that occurred in the North Ring Road of Santiago.

Santana Almonte, a native of the municipal district of Manzanillo, in the province of Montecristi, was shot while traveling in a vehicle on the aforementioned road. The attack caused multiple gunshot wounds that caused his death at the scene. According to authorities, a second person involved in the crime remains at large, so search operations and intelligence work are being carried out to find his whereabouts.
