President announces a spaceport in Pedernales to send rockets and satellites into space

President Luis Abinader announced in his accountability report this Friday that the Dominican government signed a historic agreement with the American company LOD Holdings for the development of a commercial spaceport in Oviedo, in Pedernales.

"Before May 2028, we are going to send a satellite or a rocket from Pedernales, so they believe it," the President affirmed.

He explained that this will be a pioneering infrastructure that opens the doors of our country to the global space economy and will involve more than 600 million dollars in investment.

With this spaceport, Pedernales will not only be consolidated as a pole of tourism and logistics development, but also as a symbol of a nation that looks to the future.

That project adds to the arrival and expansion of large global technological players such as Google or Nvidia, who today are betting on the country as a safe platform to innovate, invest and grow.
