Santo Domingo.- Marked at 8:42 p.m. this Friday, the lights of the Eduardo Brito National Theater dimmed, giving way to an atmosphere of anticipation.
The curtain opened and with it, a torrent of emotions was unleashed: "Forever Tango", the majestic Argentinian spectacle, directed by Luis Bravo, which paid tribute to the sensuality, strength, and history of the tango.
For two hours, six pairs of dancers dazzled with meticulously executed choreographies, where each turn, each embrace, and each pause spoke for themselves. The elegance of the costumes and the complicity between the bodies stood out on stage.
To the sound of an orchestra composed of seven musicians, who performed classics with an enveloping sound power, and the moving voice of Marcela Rios, who knew how to imprint emotional nuances to each note, the show was not limited to showing dance steps.
It was a narrative, a scenic chronicle that traversed the origins of tango, its evolution, its nostalgia, and its passions.
Between pieces, there was also room for subtle humor, without breaking the spell of elegance. Every detail, from the lighting to the silences, was calculated with artistic precision, distilling virtuosity at all times.
At 10:33 at night, when the curtain finally fell, the applause did not cease. Standing, the audience paid tribute to a performance that was not just a spectacle, but a complete sensory experience.
The protagonists The true protagonists of this majestic artistic expression were the musicians Horacio Romo, Rodolfo Zanetti and Santiago Polimeni on the bandoneons; on the violin Diana LeGrand; on the viola George Pekarsky; on the cello Luis Bravo; on the double bass Héctor Pineda and on the piano Jorge Vernieri.
Likewise, the corps de ballet is made up of the couples Juan Paulo Horvath and Natalia Turelli; Ariel Manzanares and María Noel Sciuto; Soledad Buss and César Peral; Pablo Vélez and Daniela Kizyma; Gonzalo Bogado and Jimena Toñanez; Sebastián Martínez and Ayelén Morando.
