The authorities of the Alamodome stadium confirmed that the problem that motivated the cancellation was related to the infrastructure of the venue, but not with failures in the venue, ruling out speculations that the cancellation was due to problems at the venue. Following the news, the interpreter of “Soltera”, published an official statement on her social media, where she explained the reasons that led her to make such a drastic decision. This added in the statement, that after the past incident that the structure of her concert in Boston presented, she personally demanded the incorporation of a new team of engineers, who assured her that after a detailed review, the stage had been reinforced guaranteeing 100% safety and reliability. Shakira also expressed being "devastated and heartbroken" by the cancellation and assured that she is working to reschedule the show in San Antonio. The concerts scheduled in Houston for June 15th are still on, although the one on June 17th was rescheduled from June 15th without specifying the reasons. This cancellation adds to a series of interruptions in her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" tour, which had already faced similar problems in other cities in the U.S. and Latin America, such as Boston, Washington D.C., Santiago de Chile and Medellín, due to technical and security complications."To introduce myself in each city, we depend on a third party that locally provides the infrastructure to support the stage and the roof from which my production hangs. It saddens me to inform you what they have told me: that due to a structural problem with a truss provided by this external company to support my stage, we are forced to reschedule my sold-out show in San Antonio, originally scheduled for tonight, June 13," the singer stated in her statement.
