Peter David was born in Fort Meade, United States on September 23, 195, he was an American screenwriter famous for his work in comics, standing out in several famous titles of the Marvel universe.
David was Jewish and his paternal grandparents emigrated to the United States fleeing Nazism
His father was a journalist and his mother a mathematician, which allowed him to develop a passion for writing from a young age. He studied journalism at New York University, but his true calling led him to the world of fiction
His narrative approach was characterized by the psychological depth of the characters, the intelligent humor, and the cultural references, which left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

Legacy in Comics and Other Works
David began his career at Marvel Comics in the sales department, but soon stood out as a screenwriter. His most emblematic stage was in The Incredible Hulk (1987–1998), where he explored the complex psyche of Bruce Banner, introducing multiple personalities and delving into psychological themes.
He also created characters like Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O’Hara), a superhero from the future with Mexican roots, and revitalized series such as X-Factor, Aquaman, Supergirl, and Young Justice.
In addition to comics, Peter David wrote more than 50 novels, including adaptations and original works in universes such as Star Trek and Babylon 5. In television, he co-created the series Space Cases for Nickelodeon and collaborated on programs such as Babylon 5 and Ben 10: Alien Force.
Death
At the end of December 2012, Peter David's official website announced that the author had suffered a stroke. During the first few days, David lost sensation and movement in the right side of his body and had trouble seeing correctly.
As the days went by, it became known that he was undergoing rehabilitation therapy for his arm and leg, while his eye seemed to be recovering. Peter David died at the age of 68 due to the after-effects of the cerebral infarction on May 24, 2025. His death was confirmed through social media by his wife Kathleen O'Shea David.
His death occurred months after a family friend, Graham Murphy, launched a campaign on GoFundMe to cover medical expenses, following the rejection of the US public system (Medicaid) to continue his treatment.
