A father jumped into the ocean from a cruise ship to save his daughter, who had fallen into the water from the fourth deck of the ship, leading to a rescue operation that lasted approximately 10 minutes, as reported this Tuesday by USA Today.
The incident occurred when the Disney Dream cruise ship, with a capacity for 4,000 people, was returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after a four-day trip through the Bahamas.
According to witnesses cited by USA Today, the girl fell into the sea while her father was taking a photo of her next to a railing. When the father saw that his daughter had fallen into the sea, he immediately jumped into the water to try to rescue her.
An "man overboard" alert was immediately issued, and the crew deployed a rescue operation.

US media showed videos in which the rescue operation and passengers cheering the happy ending can be seen, while the father and daughter were rescued by a lifeboat after, apparently, staying afloat for 10 minutes. In a statement, cited by the media, Disney Cruise Line confirmed the rescue, although it did not offer more details of the event nor did it publish additional information on its social networks.
