Washington.- The U.S. President, Donald Trump, assured this Friday that he will visit Venezuela, although he admitted that the date of the trip has not yet been decided.
The Republican made these statements before leaving for a military base in North Carolina, where this Friday he plans to meet with members of the U.S. special forces who participated in the operation that ended with the capture in January of the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, who is now facing trial in New York accused of narcoterrorism and conspiracy."I am going to visit Venezuela," Trump responded to journalists at the White House today, and then explained that it has not yet been defined when this trip will take place.
Following the military operation, the Trump administration has handed over the transition command in Venezuela to Maduro's former number two and current acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, and assured that the White House is overseeing the work of its Executive Branch.
