The third place in the series went to Zimbabwean Makanakaishe Charamba, with a time of 20.03, insufficient to advance through direct positions.

A firm step towards the final

The Dominican Republic athlete had already shown his potential in the qualifying round, where he dominated his heat with authority by recording 20.10 seconds, securing his place in the semi-finals directly. With his ranking, Ogando is positioned among the best in the world in the distance, and keeps alive the Dominican aspirations of adding a new medal in the championship.
