United Arab Emirates.- Indian professor and activist Rouble Nagi was recognized with the Global Teacher Prize, endowed with one million dollars, during the World Government Summit held in Dubai.
The award highlighted Nagi's work at the head of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, an organization that has opened more than 800 educational centers in different regions of India. The central objective of this work is to facilitate access to formal education for children who have never attended school and to provide academic support to those who are already in school.
The activist has developed an innovative method based on art, painting educational murals in marginalized neighborhoods. These murals serve as pedagogical tools to teach reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history skills, bringing knowledge closer to communities that face structural barriers to accessing the education system.
Nagi announced his intention to invest the million dollars received in the construction of an institute aimed at offering free vocational training, thus expanding the social impact of his work.
