Santo Domingo. - President Luis Abinader congratulated and thanked the Dominican political leadership for their participation in the high-level dialogue on the crisis in Haiti, convened by the Executive Branch.
The president described the final report prepared by the Economic and Social Council, born from discussions between various sectors, as a "memorable" and "unprecedented" event, highlighting that democracy is strengthened by the political maturity shown.
He highlighted the receptiveness of the various actors in society to the government's initiative to dialogue in order to unify criteria and protect the country from the possible effects of the Haitian crisis, which has reached its critical point.
President Abinader stated that political and social unity is fundamental to address the challenges posed by the situation in Haiti and the implications it would entail for the country.
During his intervention at LA Semanal with the press last Monday, the Dominican ruler announced that in his next intervention at the General Assembly of the United Nations, he will address the issue, highlighting the international community's abandonment of the neighboring country and the effects and threats posed by the social crisis in the neighboring nation for the Dominican Republic.
