Accident between two buses in Colombia left 30 injured on the Siberia-La Punta road, in Cundinamarca

Colombia.-A serious traffic accident occurred on the night of Tuesday, February 24, 2026, on the Siberia-La Punta road, near the municipality of Tenjo, in the department of Cundinamarca. The incident involved two buses from the companies CoontransRosal and Flota Santafe, which generated a rapid response from the region's emergency services, including fire departments, ambulances, and Civil Defense.

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred on kilometer 7+050 of the Medellín Highway, north side, Bogotá-La Vega road. After the collision, rescue teams found two people trapped in the vehicles, who were freed with hydraulic tools and immobilized before being transferred to health centers. In total, 30 people were reported injured, of whom six were taken to the Engativá Hospital, and ten to the Facatativá Hospital. The rest of the injured received pre-hospital care at the scene and were then referred to other health centers according to the severity of their injuries.

Although the final balance of injured people was still in the process of being consolidated at the close of the report, the authorities confirmed that no fatalities were recorded. The rapid intervention of the different emergency organizations allowed to control the situation and guarantee the timely attention of those affected. The emergency was declared under control shortly after the incident, thanks to the coordinated work of seven fire units, two ambulances, a rescue unit, and the support of 911 ambulances and the road concession.
