Miami-Dade County, Florida, court documents confirm that on August 16, 2013, Martinez was arrested for the crime of grand theft in the third degree. The case was registered with the number 13-019119 and originated from complaints from relatives of victims and incarcerated individuals, to whom Martinez allegedly offered, in exchange for sums of money, legal assistance and investigative support that never materialized. After receiving the payments, the accused disappeared without a trace.
Although he has positioned himself in digital media as a supposed researcher and political analyst, the Dominican authorities maintain that Martínez used that facade to conceal an operation of digital extortion and media blackmail. The Public Ministry has initiated legal proceedings for technological crimes, aggravated defamation, association of wrongdoers, and money laundering, supported by more than a dozen complaints filed by different victims.
Martínez allegedly monetized the discrediting of public figures through platforms like YouTube and other social networks, generating income that is now the subject of an international financial investigation. He currently faces legal proceedings in both the Dominican Republic and other jurisdictions, and an international arrest warrant is outstanding against him.
The revelations about his criminal past and the absence of valid credentials as a professional detective question the legitimacy with which he has presented himself to public opinion for years, while investigations are underway that could lead to new charges for transnational crimes.
