Banco Popular clarifies man who expressed intention to assault Higüey branch was unarmed

Banco Popular Dominicano reports that an incident occurred today, Thursday, at noon at its branch located in the city of Higüey, when an unarmed individual entered the establishment announcing his intention to commit a robbery.

Thanks to the rapid and effective action of the security personnel, as well as the immediate application of the established protocols, the situation was brought under control without any personal or material damage. No clients or collaborators were affected.

Police authorities immediately went to the scene, arrested the individual, and took him into custody, confirming that he was unarmed.
