Spain.- The National Council on Disability (CONADIS) will work in collaboration with the World Bank and Grupo Social Once on the issues of accessibility in the Dominican Republic, as outlined in the National Disability Plan, the Accessibility Pact, and the inclusive municipalities strategy.
Metz participated as a delegate of the Dominican Republic in Spain in an event organized by the World Bank called “Universal Accessibility in Spain and Latin America: Experiences, Challenges and Opportunities” where he visited the city halls of Madrid and Barcelona, as well as the headquarters of the Once foundation, a place where people with disabilities are trained in digital skills and where the latest proposals to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities are worked on.
The plan seeks to involve various public institutions for the implementation of universal accessibility and inclusion programs to apply measures in the urban environment, housing, or transportation.

Metz expressed that “President Luis Abinader's government is committed to accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities, from CONADIS our mission is to create strong international ties to implement a plan that provides innovative solutions that promote equality”.
At the meeting, Metz shared with his counterpart in Spain, Jesús Martín Blanco, also with the representative of Social Development of the World Bank, Elena García Mora, and the vice president of the Social Group Once, Alberto Durán.
In addition, the delegation visited Madrid City Hall where they shared with Mayor José Luis Martínez Almeida, as well as in Barcelona they were received at the transport company and at the mayor's office headed by Jaume Collboni.
