SANTO DOMINGO.– Following the defeat of the Dominican Republic's team against the United States in the World Baseball Classic, citizens expressed divided opinions on which team they will support going forward in the tournament.
During a tour of different sectors of the capital, some fans stated that they will now support the Venezuelan national team, considering that the championship should stay in Latin America.
“Let Venezuela win. If it were up to me, I am not Venezuelan, but I am not American either. They beat us and now I am going to support them,” said Marcos Jiménez.
Other Dominican citizens agreed with this position and said they expect a victory for the Venezuelan team in their next match against Italy.
