Driver thanks God after surviving vehicle fire and sends message of faith

Santo Domingo.– Moved and grateful, the young driver Jonatahan Natanael Paredes, 29 years old, offered his first statements to De Último Minuto after surviving a vehicle fire that occurred on Wednesday afternoon on César Nicolás Penson Avenue, corner of Máximo Gómez, near the National Theater.

In the midst of the impact of the event, Paredes expressed that the first thing he did was thank God for his life, highlighting that at the time of the fire he was traveling completely alone. He pointed out that this was his greatest peace of mind, understanding that there were no passengers on board who could be affected, as he was going to pick up a group of call center employees for whom he provides private transportation service. The driver reported that the vehicle, a white Jimbei, year 2017, presented a sudden explosion, followed by flames. Thanks to his quick reaction, he managed to get out unharmed, which he described as a true miracle.

Thank God it only happened to me and not to the people I was going to look for, because then things would have been more difficult”, he expressed visibly moved, reiterating that his faith was key to remaining calm in the midst of the situation. During his statements, Jonatahan also took the opportunity to send a message of reflection, assuring that he firmly believes that "Christ is coming" and that each person has a purpose in life, even in the midst of trials and unexpected moments. The fire was brought under control by the National District Fire Department, with support from Digesett, while authorities reported that the causes of the incident are still under investigation. The young man was unharmed.
