Fiscalía presenta agravantes en caso de homicidio de menor con discapacidad en California

California, EE.UU. La Fiscalía del condado de Ventura presentó circunstancias agravantes en el caso de homicidio de un menor con discapacidad, lo que podría conllevar una pena más severa contra el acusado.

El imputado, identificado como Zuberi Kalaikulokahiokalani Sharp, de 26 años, se declaró culpable de asesinato en segundo grado por la muerte de su medio hermano de 15 años, quien padecía parálisis cerebral.

De acuerdo con las autoridades, el crimen ocurrió en diciembre de 2024 en Newbury Park, y el acusado admitió haber utilizado un arma, además de infligir graves lesiones a la víctima, cuya condición de vulnerabilidad fue determinante en la formulación de agravantes.

El caso ha generado indignación en la comunidad debido a la condición del menor, considerado una persona en estado de indefensión.

La audiencia de sentencia está prevista para el próximo 5 de mayo, donde el acusado podría enfrentar una condena que va desde 15 años hasta cadena perpetua.
