Santo Domingo.- In his final statements before the First Collegiate Tribunal of the National District, General Adán Cáceres Silvestre, the main defendant in the Coral case, maintained that five years after the start of the process, he still does not know with whom he allegedly associated to commit illicit acts.
During his intervention, the former head of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep) focused his defense on questioning the accusation of association of wrongdoers, alleging that the Public Ministry has not been able to clearly identify the people with whom he would have agreed to violate the law.
"Five years later, I still don't know who I partnered with to commit crimes", Cáceres stated, while affirming that no testimony has been presented in the trial that directly links him to illicit agreements.
The accused also criticized the role of the prosecuting body, pointing out that its interest is focused on winning cases, while true justice, in his opinion, lies in the impartiality of the judges.
