SANTIAGO. – The Santiago Metros extended their undefeated streak by defeating the Soles del Este 101-95 in a disputed match of the LNB Super League held at the Oscar Gobaira Arena.

With the triumph, the Metros set their mark at 2-0 at the start of the 2026 season, while the Soles suffered their first defeat of the tournament. The Santiago offensive was led by Jordan Hall, who scored 22 points with great efficiency, followed by Anthony Fairley with 21 units. Troy Cracknell also stood out, with 16 points and four three-pointers, and Jordan Gerónimo, who contributed 14 points. The dominance in the paint was led by Florent Thamba, with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Adris De León distributed 12 assists.For the Soles, Terry Larrier stood out with 18 points and Tristan Jarrett with 17, accompanied by Daruin Rosario (14), Jonathan Bello (13) and Jean Quezada, who recorded a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Metros took control from the first quarter (28-22), driven by Cracknell's accuracy, and managed to maintain the lead at halftime (51-47), despite the visitors' reaction. In the third period they extended the difference to double digits, but the Suns responded in the last quarter, tying the score 80-80 with a three-pointer by Jarrett. However, a decisive 13-4 partial in the final minutes, crowned by a play by Cracknell, returned control to the Santiagueros, who closed with defensive solidity to secure the victory. During halftime, the Metros paid tribute to veteran Manuel Guzmán, who announced his retirement after 22 years of experience in Dominican basketball. The day on Friday will continue with the Marineros de Puerto Plata facing the Cañeros del Este, while the Reales de La Vega will visit the Gigantes Basketball Club.
