Washington D.C. – Dominican merengue singer Jandy Ventura participated in the eighth annual Dominicans On The Hill conference, held at the United States Capitol Visitor Center, a national gathering that honors leadership, service, and excellence within the Dominican-American community. The celebration, founded and led by Congressman Adriano Espaillat, brought together leaders, public figures, and representatives from various sectors to highlight the impact of the Dominican diaspora on the history and development of the United States. In this 2026 edition, the event featured a panel specially designed to represent the artistic pillars that define Dominican identity: identity, purpose, influence, and legacy. In this space, Jandy participated alongside José Alberto El Canario, Adalgisa Pantaleón, Manny Pérez, Techy Fatule, Lumy Lizardo, and Ramón Rodríguez Santos, addressing the theme of cultural identity, artistic purpose, and the responsibility that musical and cultural influence entails in society. During the meeting, the merengue artist also received a proclamation recognizing him as the leader of the El Legado del Caballo orchestra, reaffirming the continuity of a musical and cultural heritage that has transcended borders, generations, and industries, and that keeps the spirit of merengue alive as a symbol of national identity.

Your participation has a special meaning, as it continues a legacy deeply linked to this stage. In 2021, the unforgettable Johnny Ventura was received in this same space after overcoming health complications caused by COVID-19. Subsequently, in 2022, "Dominicans On The Hill" paid him a posthumous tribute in which prominent figures from the artistic, cultural, and political spheres participated. Today, in 2026, it is Jandy who assumes that symbolic place, reaffirming his role as heir and continuer of a legacy that continues to mark generations. As a Dominican whose work has exceeded expectations and scenarios, he has built an authentic representation on international stages, maintaining deep roots in the cultural identity that distinguishes him. Your presence at the event solidifies your role as a cultural ambassador and confirms that the legacy of merengue and Dominican identity remains alive, evolving, and leaving indelible marks on the shared history between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
