Las Galeras, Samaná. - The City Hall of the Municipal District of Las Galeras, under the direction of Licda. Ana Reyes, has launched a series of deep cleaning operations in various communities of the territory, as part of its institutional commitment to order, health, and collective well-being.
The workdays include the intervention of ravines, drains, streets and public spaces, with the aim of maintaining the district in optimal conditions and preventing environmental and health risks.
These works are carried out in coordination with community representatives, local brigades, and technical personnel from the council.
"Keeping our environment clean is not only the responsibility of the local government, but a shared commitment by all citizens. We need every inhabitant to take seriously the care of our streams and drains, because a clean district is a reflection of a conscious and organized community," said Mayor Reyes during one of the operations.
The initiative is part of a comprehensive environmental management and community strengthening plan that seeks to raise cleanliness standards, promote civic culture, and project a positive image of Las Galeras as a tourist destination and model of sustainable development.
The Mayor's Office reiterates its call to the population to actively collaborate, avoiding the accumulation of waste in public spaces and denouncing practices that affect the environment. The actions will continue in the coming weeks, covering new sectors and reinforcing the link between local government and community.
