Los Alcarrizos.– President Luis Abinader stated this Tuesday that the inauguration of Line 2C of the Santo Domingo Metro marks a before and after for thousands of families in Los Alcarrizos, Pantoja and surrounding communities, assuring that the work directly transforms the quality of life of the people.
“Today we are not simply cutting a ribbon, today we are closing a long wait and opening a new future”, expressed the president when leading the official act, accompanied by the first lady Raquel Arbaje, ministers, legislators, municipal authorities and representatives of the transport sector.
Abinader recalled that for years the residents of this area left their homes before dawn and returned late at night due to the prolonged traffic jams, uncertainty and the high cost of transportation. "Today Santo Domingo Oeste ceases to be far away; mobility ceases to be an obstacle and begins to be an opportunity", he said. The Metro Line 2C runs 7.3 kilometers from the María Montez station to the entrance of Los Alcarrizos, connecting 14 densely populated communities along the Duarte highway, with five stations: Pedro Martínez, Franklin Mieses Burgos, 27 de Febrero, Freddy Gastón Arce and Pablo Adón Guzmán.
