The Director General of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, will lead this Wednesday an extensive preventive operation on the occasion of the festivities for the arrival of the New Year 2026, as part of the actions aimed at preserving public order and citizen tranquility.
The information was provided by the director of Strategic Communications of the institution, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, who explained that, since the early hours of December 31st, police officers have been strategically deployed throughout the national territory, reinforcing preventive presence at key points to deter criminal acts and respond promptly to any eventuality.
Pesqueira highlighted that Major General Guzmán Peralta will conduct a supervisory tour tonight through different areas of the country, in order to verify the correct development of preventive tasks and the performance of police personnel, a day that will extend until the early hours of Thursday, January 1st.
These actions are part of the Preventive Operation "Christmas with Peace Guarantee 2.0", which began on December 3rd, and is carried out in coordination with other state security agencies.
This operation's main objective is to protect lives, maintain public order, and ensure that citizens can celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays in an atmosphere of peace, security, and harmonious coexistence.
