OPRET begins dynamic train tests in the Metro of Los Alcarrizos (Line 2C)

The Office for Transportation Reordering (OPRET) informs the public that dynamic train tests are already underway on the new Line 2C of the Santo Domingo Metro, also known as the Los Alcarrizos Metro.

This important milestone marks the beginning of the final preparation phase before the commissioning of this work that will transform mobility in Greater Santo Domingo. The tests began more than ten days ago in the underground section, and since this week they are also being carried out on the viaduct, at low speed, at different times of the day and night.

During this technical process, the trains move in a controlled manner, with stops, advances and reverses, gradually evaluating the electrical, mechanical and control systems. In addition, simulated internal weight is incorporated to replicate real operating conditions.

The circulation speed will gradually increase in the coming weeks, as part of the validation protocol. In September, a special day of dynamic tests will be held, which will be attended by President Luis Abinader, and in which the national press will be invited.

The OPRET reaffirms its commitment to the development of a modern, safe, and efficient transportation system for all Dominicans, and will continue to inform the population about each step of this process.
