Police identify alleged assailants of woman in broad daylight in Santiago

Santiago.- The National Police reported this Monday that the alleged perpetrators of a snatch committed against a woman in broad daylight in Santiago were identified, an event that was captured in a video that has gone viral on social media, for which it urged those involved to surrender through the means they deem appropriate. According to the institution, agents from the Property Crimes Investigation Unit of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), based at the Plaza Valerio sector detachment, carried out the surveys and investigations at the scene, managing to establish the identity of the alleged perpetrators, who are fugitives. The Police spokesperson in this city, Fiordaliza Popa Arias, explained that during the incident, the individuals stole a Haitian woman's purse; however, she specified that the woman managed to recover her belongings at the same moment of the incident. According to the preliminary report, while the snatch was occurring, the suspects were hit by a white Hyundai vehicle, driven by a Haitian citizen with legal immigration status, who, upon realizing the situation, decided to intervene and thwart the robbery, causing the individuals to flee.

In the scene, the alleged antisocials left a Z3000 brand motorcycle, black, which was occupied by DICRIM agents for investigation purposes. The Police reported that the corresponding arrest warrants are being processed to locate those involved and proceed with their subsequent submission to justice.
