New Delhi, India.- The General Director of Customs, Yayo Sanz Lovatón, and the Director of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) of the Republic of India, Surjit Bhujabal, signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement so that Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) from both countries obtain the same trade advantages and customs facilities in all ports and airports of the two nations.
This, in order for Dominican exporters to enhance their commercial activities with this important market and, in turn, the country's relations with one of the most important economies in the world. Furthermore, direct contact channels were established through representatives from both Customs, a framework of close cooperation that includes the exchange of information on authorization criteria for AEO members and border clearance processes. Both Customs agreed, also, to conduct Joint Validation visits in the customs territories for the evaluation of the AEO program of the counterpart and to verify mutual compatibility.
