Santo Domingo.– Veteran communicators Tania Báez and Milagros Germán described the departure of the program Esta Noche Mariasela from Dominican television as an “uncalculable loss.” The statements were made during a press conference for the theatrical proposal “Sin Pedir Permiso”, in which both participate.

For his part, Germán highlighted that the program's departure represents the loss of an important voice for television and for Dominican women."Mariasela's knowledge doesn't retire, it's something that, on another platform, will surely expand," expressed Báez.
Both agreed that Mariasela will not retire completely and stated that, “with another proposal or platform, we will have her dignity, commitment and honesty, with which she has undertaken her career in television”.“For women in television, it is the departure of an important, committed and necessary voice for the causes of the country and for communication, even more so at this moment that the sector is experiencing,” she stated.
The announcement was made on the broadcast of Monday, February 16th through Color Visión, channel 9 and on its social media, where Álvarez highlighted that, after 35 years in television and more than 14 years accompanying the public every night, “Esta Noche Mariasela has come to the end of its cycle”. In an Instagram post, they added: "Our voice will not be silenced. We will continue to tell stories in another way and at another time". Communicators and producers such as Iván Ruiz, Pamela Sued, Miralba Ruiz, Nuria Piera, Alicia Ortega and Georgina Duluc, among others, joined the reactions on social media, who regretted the decision to remove the variety communication proposal. Also, the first lady, Raquel Arbaje, spoke, highlighting Álvarez's legacy in communication, describing the program as her "curfew for most days", and urged the production to resume the project: "Hopefully, they can reconsider perhaps another less expensive or alternate-day format".“I hope you find the peace and tranquility you are looking for,” added Germán.
