The five Spanish prisoners released by Venezuela are already flying to Spain, where their arrival is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. this Friday, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares.
“The 5 compatriots released today in Venezuela are already flying to Spain. They will soon be home with their loved ones. I have spoken with them to convey my joy at their release,” the minister published last night on X.
This morning, in an interview on TVE reported by EFE, Albares has assured that he is awaiting the possibility of further release of Spanish prisoners from Venezuelan prisons.
The minister has been discreet about who the new released individuals might be, but he has indicated that "there is one person in particular about whom we have hopes that they may be released in the coming hours or days."
"I am not going to go into further detail, but what I do hope is that this positive step taken by the Government of Venezuela in this new stage that is opening in Venezuela will continue," he said.

The released Spaniards are José María Basoa, Andrés Martínez Adasme, Miguel Moreno Dapena, Ernesto Gorbe Cardona and the Spanish-Venezuelan Rocío San Miguel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday in a statement the release of these Spaniards, within the "significant number" of incarcerated people whose release has been announced this Thursday by the Venezuelan authorities.
