Santo Domingo. – Members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) of the National Police arrested in the San Isidro sector, Santo Domingo East municipality, a man who had been a fugitive from justice since 2019, accused of committing a homicide in the community of El Pino, Dajabón province.
The detainee was identified as Kelvin Domingo Martínez Tejada, alias “Mingo”, accused of allegedly taking the life of Mr. Ramón Abreu, after shooting him in the head while they were both sharing a game of dominoes in the El Rodeo sector, amid an alleged fight. According to the preliminary report, the arrest was made possible thanks to an extensive intelligence process, surveillance, and investigation work carried out over several years by agents of the Criminal Investigation Division (DICRIM) based in Loma de Cabrera, in coordination with operational units in Santo Domingo, headed by Major Duarte and Captain Argelis. These actions were under the strategic direction of Commander De La Rosa, known as "La Soguita". The detainee will be transferred in the coming hours to the jurisdiction of Dajabón, where he will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes. Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased Ramón Abreu expressed their gratitude to the authorities, highlighting the perseverance and coordinated work of the DICRIM units in both Dajabón province and Santo Domingo, which allowed the alleged perpetrator of the crime to be brought to justice. The National Police reiterated its commitment to continue strengthening the work of investigation and prosecution of crime, ensuring that no criminal act goes unpunished.
