A judge imposed an economic guarantee of "500 thousand pesos", in addition to "periodic presentation before the authorities", to "Víctor Manuel Encarnación", who is listed as preliminarily accused of an alleged rape that occurred in the municipality of Villa Tapia, Hermanas Mirabal province.
The measure was adopted after learning of the request submitted by the Public Ministry, while the judicial process continues in its investigation stage. With this decision, the accused faces the process on bail under conditions, which he must strictly comply with as established by the court.
The authorities reiterated that the case has not concluded and that evidence continues to be gathered to clarify the facts, guaranteeing at all times respect for due process and the presumption of innocence.
